Are you looking for something cheap in Japan? Of course, the “something” here means FOOD. Well, I think most of the people know that dining in Japan is not cheap, but if you are good in dig hole (korek lubang), you can actually get a cheap meal too. One of the “hole” I found is to walk around “super market” (I used to call those convenient market/mini market/super market hampalang (all) as super market), most of the “super market” selling bento 弁当 (lunch box). When come to certain time, few hours before the food is expired, they will have discount on the bento. Grab one!

Mother's Homemade Kaya Jam Recipe

"kaya" is a jam made with coconut milk (santan), sugar and eggs. Pandan leaves are added during cooking process to bring more fragrance to the jam. I have this homemade kaya recipe from my mother while she made kaya jam last Sunday. The ingredients used are very simple but I was impressed with her patient during the cooking process. It was really time consuming to make the delicious kaya. You need to stir the mixture continuously during the cooking process in order to get the smooth texture kaya. Write comment (0 Comments)

Fresh Fruit Cheese Cake

BIG Lobster at Red Lobster | Odaiba, Japan

Last few weekend, I had a trip to Odaiba with my colleagues. That was the fourth time I visited to Odaiba, a man made island in Tokyo. It is one of the popular tourist spots in Japan, famous with shopping and entertainment district. Rainbow Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Aqua City and the Palette Town Ferris Wheel are few famous spots in Odaiba. Of course that are not the all in Odaiba.

While we walk around Aqua City, we found a restaurant that is serving lobster. Looking at the display set, it was so tempting. With a reasonable price of the set, we decided to give it a try.

We order the set "Golden Roasted Canadian Lobster & Juicy cut Steak" which costs 1974 yen. The set came with soup, rice and BIG lobster & steak set. (I am not sure was that size consider as BIG but I am sure it is much more bigger compare to prawn ). Also, the chances of eating lobster in Penang is very slim. Hence to me, it is consider as BIG BIG lobster.

The steak has nothing special and tasted normal. But in overall, the set was delicious. The lobster was juicy and it tasted like prawn and crab. I like it! I like it!! I like it!!!

I would recommend all to visit Red Lobster in Odaiba, as you can have a beautiful view of Rainbow Bridge and Statue of Liberty while enjoying your meal in the restaurant.
