I would like to share a very simple dish that I cooked yesterday, homemade yakitori. Yakitori (焼き鳥) is a Japanese type of skewered chicken. It is made from few bite-sized chicken meats, skewered on a bamboo skewer over charcoal.
Japanese like to order yakitori during dinner with a group of colleagues or friends, eat with some other dishes and drink with beer or sake 酒, Japanese alcoholic drink.
Japanese yakitori (photo captured from Japanese yakitori shop) Besides chicken, they also used chicken heart, liver, chicken wing, ox tongue, squid and others to make yakitori. On Friday, I bought a bottle of yakitori sauce from supermarket near my company. At night, I merinate the chicken meats with the yakitori sauce. The next morning, I grilled the chicken meats and ate together with rice. I do not follow the way Japanese cook and just put the chicken on top of alluminium foil and grilled them. It was delicious and very easy to prepare.

Yakitori sauce I am not sure where to get it in Malaysia. May be we can get it in supermarket such as Jusco or Cold Storage, or shops in town that selling all those Japanese food? Anyone knows where to get it?
