Dinner at いろはかるた Izakaya 居酒屋| Kyoto Japan

Izakaya居酒屋is a place where Japanese gather together for eating, drinking, smoking and talking. To be more precise, it is a place for them to drink, drink, drink and drink non-stop. Since it is a place for drinking, many Izakaya provide drinking buffer (飲み放題 "nomihoudai") package. If you are to order a set package, many of them come with appetizer, main dishes, salad, dessert and some side dishes. The drinks are buffet type and you can choose from soft drink, wine, cocktail, sake and others. Most of them are alcohol. I have visited to many of the Izakaya during the stay in Japan. Most of the times were attended farewell or welcoming party with Japanese colleague. I have no chance to take good photo during dining with them.

Cold Egg Soba 冷たい卵そば | Japan

Soba is a kind of brown noodles made from buckwheat flour. Cold egg soba is noodles in cold sauce with wasabi, scallions and raw egg. I have never wanted to try the cold soba here as the egg serves in the cold soba is totally raw. I am afraid of the egg smell if it is eaten raw and dare not challenge myself to eat raw egg except if the raw egg is use to make tiramisu. Somehow, on past few weeks, we stepped into an old soba and udon shop. Since Camus wanted to try something special in Japan, Japan local food, hence we ordered cold egg soba. Unsure about how to order cold egg soba in Japanese, after talking and describing what we wanted to the Taukeh Soh, finally we got what we want.

BIG Lobster at Red Lobster | Odaiba, Japan

Last few weekend, I had a trip to Odaiba with my colleagues. That was the fourth time I visited to Odaiba, a man made island in Tokyo. It is one of the popular tourist spots in Japan, famous with shopping and entertainment district. Rainbow Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Aqua City and the Palette Town Ferris Wheel are few famous spots in Odaiba. Of course that are not the all in Odaiba. While we walk around Aqua City, we found a restaurant that is serving lobster. Looking at the display set, it was so tempting. With a reasonable price of the set, we decided to give it a try.   Display set We order the set "Golden Roasted Canadian Lobster & Juicy cut Steak" which costs 1974 yen. The set came with soup, rice and BIG lobster & steak set. (I am not sure was that size consider as BIG but I am sure it is much more bigger compare to prawn The steak has nothing special and tasted normal. But in overall, the set was delicious. The lobster was juicy and it tasted like prawn and crab. I like it! I like it!! I like it!!! Juicy lobster, 美味しい "Hello, I am Mr. Lobster" Completely eaten by me, kesiannya... Alive lobsters in front of the restaurant waiting for kill Our bill, total of 5922yen for three person I would recommend all to visit Red Lobster in Odaiba, as you can have a beautiful view of Rainbow Bridge and Statue of Liberty while enjoying your meal in the restaurant. You can visit their website http://www.redlobster.jp/ for more information, they have other branches besides Odaiba. But the website is in Japanese.

I do not bake for a period of time due to no oven with me in Japan. I mentioned that I miss my smart oven in Penang from the post of Peach Cheesecake. Well, after few months of stay in my apartment, I do not realize that actually I have an oven in my apartment. It is conventional oven where it can be used to toast, grill, bake and also act as microwave oven. A friend of mine discovered this and told me that I can bake, huuray! If not, I think I won't realize that I have an oven with me. Haha.. Tongue out
This is one of the cakes that I have baked. Banana muffin.
