Cake can be baked in several ways, by using an oven which is the most common way. I knew that cake can be steamed with gas as well. But have you ever tried to bake a cake with rice cooker? Basically I do not hear people in our country bake with rice cooker, and I was surprised to see a book that introduces how to bake a cake with rice cooker. Without further consideration, I bought the book.
Below are the ingredients needed.
250g cream cheese (room temperature) 80g caster sugar 3 eggs 1tbsp plain flour 200ml fresh cream 1tbsp lemon juice Method: 1. Mix cream cheese and caster sugar in a bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy.
4. Add in plain flour and continue to mix until combined. 5. Lastly add in fresh cream and mix well.
The ingredients used and method of preparation are actually similar to the one we bake with oven, which is the normal way. But I would like to comment on the outcome I obtained this round. Basically everything is fine but texture of the cake is not as perfect as what I expected. It was a bit hard on the side of the cake. I believed it was caused by the time taken to bake the cake. I baked for more than 30 minutes, which I think it was too long. I should try to bake in shorter time next round, and wish that I will be able to get the result that I want. *I used Japan's rice cooker to bake the cake, their design of rice cooker is different to Malaysia's, I think. Hence I am not sure whether Malaysia's rice cooker is suitable to use to bake for a cake or not. As I don't have my oven with me in Japan, hence I am looking for alternate way to bake. I believed the rice cooker at my apartment can served me well also, hope it won't disappoint me. Hehe... I miss my smart oven in Penang! Tags:

how many did u make?
haha...Juju, thanks...but I am not ...
I noticed your particular cooker doesn't have a ケーキ setting, which could possible be the reason your cake didn't turn out as expected.
What was the book you took the recipe from? I am always interested in trying new recipes in my cooker. What a genius piece of equipment.
I look forward to your reply.
