Christmas Dinner Semi Buffet | The View Hotel Equatorial Penang

Merry Christmas 2015! We had four days holiday on this year Christmas, a super happy holiday mood to welcome this year Christmas. We celebrated our Christmas at The View Restaurant, with their semi-buffet menu that can opt for either Turkey or Lamb for the main course. We get one Lamb and the other was rib eye steak that not in the menu. Before the soup was served, we started with the buffet. Not much choices but some of them taste really good. They have salad, fingers food, fruits, and more. Desserts were one of my main focus, their tiramisu is one of the best that I had ever ate. Desserts and fruits: Parsnip cream soup The main course tasted delicious especially the lamb, very soft and juicy. Lamb Rib eye steak Menu The semi buffet was RM158 per person, parking fees of RM6 can be claimed back from the total bill. Fresh Fruit Cheese Cake

For about 1 year, I have no chance to bake a fresh cream cake. Now, I am back to my little kitchen to bake something. Yeh! First fresh cream cake I baked this year for my lovely niece four years old birthday celebration, and I baked a fruit cheese cake for her.

Sugar Paste Cup Cake

I wanted to bake mini cup cake since long time ago. At first, my plan is to bake him a car cake since he likes to play with cars. But from his  respond, he prefer airplane, and sometime motorbike. What he likes the most is Mickey Mouse! But he had Mickey cake on last year birthday, we "reject" his request and ask him choose for others. So, in my final decision, I decided to bake him cup cakes with all those things on top.

BakedBlueberryCheeseCakeCheesecakes are usually made with soft cheese (for instant cream cheese at room temperature), sugar, eggs, flour, and liquids. Normally, the base is crust, which may be pastry, digestive biscuit or any similar biscuit. Thin layer of sponge cake may suitable to be the cake base as well.

Two main types of cheesecake are available in the market nowadays; they are frozen (chilled) cheesecake and baked cheesecake. Depending on individual, some like frozen cheesecake but some may prefer baked cheesecake. The main difference between these two types of cheesecake is the baking method, frozen cheesecake is store in fridge directly after all the mixing process while baked cheesecake need to bake before you can eat. Of course, they might have some other dissimilarity such as texture, ingredients used, and others.

Cheesecake lovers will always hunt for delicious cheesecake. People like me will normally shop to get a piece of cream cheese from super market and make my own cheesecake. Firstly, it is cheaper to make our own cheesecake as cheesecakes sell in café are expensive although they are delicious. Also, if you understand "To secure a man's heart is through his stomach", then you should just make your own cheesecake for them. Your answer to me might be "I don't know how to bake!" and my answer here, "Follow my recipe here, it is simple and easy, the percentage to failure is almost equal to zero"!

This is a soft and smooth cheesecake, I can actually feel the cheesecake melting in my mouth and the taste is really fantastic. Other than blueberry, you can always change the filling according to your taste, such as strawberry, peach, orange, passion fruit and etc.
