Coffee Smith 咖啡史密斯 | Maritime Piazza, Karpal Singh Drive, Georgetown, Penang.

When there are more and more cafe open in Penang, I wish I could visit them one by one to enjoy a cup of coffee but I only managed to go one of them recently. It is Coffee Smith that located at Maritime Piazza, Karpal Singh Drive. We went there during Friday lunch, it was very crowded and we had to wait for a while to get our seat. The waiter gave us few copies of menu which I tought it was an advertisement booklet. I found it is quite special to printed menu in this way. After grance through the menu, I found that their foods are quite pricey. In fact most of the cafes are selling foods at higher price range nowadays. I ordered brunch set "Benny Duck Egg and English Muffin", it came with two duck eggs and ham on bread, two pieces of mini hamburger steak (very mini), fries and salad. This set includes one small cup of fruit juice and black coffee, RM24. The way they serve on "wooden plate" is special but I wonder how they clean the plate? Will it remained very clean after use for many times, will the stain leave behind the wooden material? They serve spaghetti too, Spring Vegetable Spaghetti at RM16. Hokkaido Scallops Cream Noodle at RM22. Portion was not big but taste creamy and delicious, you can find two scallops in the plate. Grilled Sandwich, Sicilion Chicken, RM14. I like the grill toast pattern. Caramel Macchiato, RM11. Nice latte art... Ki no me (kinome) Japanese Restaurant | The One, Penang

Ki no me, a Japanese Restaurant located at The One, Bayan Lepas. Before went there, comments from others about this restaurant are positive. Good food with good price, but need to wait for nearly one hour before the food was serve. When I blog for this restaurant, I google for Ki no me, and I found this: 木の芽, the young leaves of the sansho tree (Japanese pepper). I think the restaurant named after this leaf as I observed the wall is decorated with many greeny leaves. I believed they are ki no me. Today, we decided to give it a try, we were lucky as we get a parking space right in front of the restaurant and not crowded at the time we arrived there.

BakedBlueberryCheeseCakeCheesecakes are usually made with soft cheese (for instant cream cheese at room temperature), sugar, eggs, flour, and liquids. Normally, the base is crust, which may be pastry, digestive biscuit or any similar biscuit. Thin layer of sponge cake may suitable to be the cake base as well.

Two main types of cheesecake are available in the market nowadays; they are frozen (chilled) cheesecake and baked cheesecake. Depending on individual, some like frozen cheesecake but some may prefer baked cheesecake. The main difference between these two types of cheesecake is the baking method, frozen cheesecake is store in fridge directly after all the mixing process while baked cheesecake need to bake before you can eat. Of course, they might have some other dissimilarity such as texture, ingredients used, and others.

Cheesecake lovers will always hunt for delicious cheesecake. People like me will normally shop to get a piece of cream cheese from super market and make my own cheesecake. Firstly, it is cheaper to make our own cheesecake as cheesecakes sell in café are expensive although they are delicious. Also, if you understand "To secure a man's heart is through his stomach", then you should just make your own cheesecake for them. Your answer to me might be "I don't know how to bake!" and my answer here, "Follow my recipe here, it is simple and easy, the percentage to failure is almost equal to zero"!

This is a soft and smooth cheesecake, I can actually feel the cheesecake melting in my mouth and the taste is really fantastic. Other than blueberry, you can always change the filling according to your taste, such as strawberry, peach, orange, passion fruit and etc.
