Plain Cheesecake | Baked with Rice Cooker

Cake can be baked in several ways, by using an oven which is the most common way. I knew that cake can be steamed with gas as well. But have you ever tried to bake a cake with rice cooker? Basically I do not hear people in our country bake with rice cooker, and I was surprised to see a book that introduces how to bake a cake with rice cooker. Without further consideration, I bought the book.

Onigiri Station | Suntech Bayan Baru, Penang

There is a new Japanese food restaurant open at Suntech Bayan Baru, Onigiri Station. Actually it is not newly open but yesterday was our first try there. We park our car at Sunshine Market and walk to the restaurant. Before we arrived at Onigiri Station, my brain already trigger me back to Japan. The fragrance from the restaurant was very similar to restaurants in Japan. This restaurant is quite small and everything is self service. I ordered a set of salmon don, which came with miso soup and green tea ice cream. Free flow of barley tea and RO water are available too.

Mother's Homemade Kaya Jam Recipe

I have this homemade kaya recipe from my mother while she made kaya jam last Sunday. The ingredients used are very simple but I was impressed with her patient during the cooking process. It was really time consuming to make the delicious kaya. You need to stir the mixture continuously during the cooking process in order to get the smooth texture kaya. If this time consuming version does not suit you, go for this version, which only required less than 30 minutes to get your kaya jam ready.

Gohanya_3This restaurant is located at Pulau Tikus, near to Belissa Row. It is not located at main road, you must turn-in in order to find this restaurant. The one who served us is a Japanese. Hence I believed it is opened by Japanese.

Camus ordered unagi and tempura ebi (fried prawn) set. This set also includes rice, 2 small slices of orange, salad and a bowl of miso soup.

I like the food very much as it tasted really nice. The rice is Japanese rice, not local rice. Teriyaki chicken tasted normal. The unagi was most delicious among all, it is not so sweet and the marinate sauce is fantastic. Even the miso soup also tasted good. If you are looking for real Japanese taste food, visit this restaurant. I feel I am back to Japan again. Laughing
