Life Organic Shop Hakka Lei Cha 客家擂茶 | Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas, Penang

I had too much meat recently. Yes, I mean not only my food consumption, but also my body. My body fat is hard to reduce, everyday sitting in office after heavy lunch gained me a lot of weight. Recently, we went for vegetarian meals for lunch to reduce my guilty after consumed so much meat and oily foods. My colleague recommended this organic restaurant that serve vegetarian in Sg Ara, Life Organic. The aunty who served us said the shop is already opened for more than two years, but I did not realise it until my colleague brought us there.

Dinner at いろはかるた Izakaya 居酒屋| Kyoto Japan

Izakaya居酒屋is a place where Japanese gather together for eating, drinking, smoking and talking. To be more precise, it is a place for them to drink, drink, drink and drink non-stop. Since it is a place for drinking, many Izakaya provide drinking buffer (飲み放題 "nomihoudai") package. If you are to order a set package, many of them come with appetizer, main dishes, salad, dessert and some side dishes. The drinks are buffet type and you can choose from soft drink, wine, cocktail, sake and others. Most of them are alcohol. I have visited to many of the Izakaya during the stay in Japan. Most of the times were attended farewell or welcoming party with Japanese colleague. I have no chance to take good photo during dining with them.

Chinese Chives Pancake Recipe

Flour+water+salt+chinese chives=chinese chives pancake This is a very easy recipe. Mix flour with water and stir until you get smooth liquid but little thick mixture. Add a pinch of salt to the mixture. Cut chinese chives to 2 inch long and add into the mixture. To fry, put some oil into frying pan, pour a scoop of mixture and fry until you get nice golden colour on both sides. Serve hot with cup of coffee for breakfast or afternoon tea!

It has been a while since our last update in MnYfoodtalk, it is mainly due to our webpage was corrupted recently (thanks to the previous lousy web hosting company). All the posts were gone and we had to re-build and re-publish all the posts as we do not have a backup for our posts. During the downtime of our webpage, the poor service from the previous web hosting company was really dissapointed us and make us mad. Hence we had decided to change to new hosting company as they provide a better service to us. The two hosting companies did make a big different in providing services to their customers. For instance, the way they reply our requests did make a big different, you can't imagine how a service company can reply an email to their customers in a rude way and blame that the fault is from customers themselves. In fact we knew that was the improper server configuration that brought us all the nightmare and here we have no intention to blame any party, but the rude and irresponsible way of servicing customer from the previous hosting company had changed our mind in continuing to host under their company. So far, we are pretty happy with current web hosting company. One lesson learnt here, BACKUP YOUR BLOG OFTENLY! Tongue out

Well, back to the square one, let's talk about FOOD! Today is Mooncake Festival, MnY would like to take this opportunity to wish all our blog's readers Happy Mooncake Festival.

Mooncake Festival is the festival where people celebrating the day while eating mooncake and playing lantern with family and friends. It is also known as Lantern Festival or Mid Autumn Festival. It falls on the 15th day of the eighth month in chinese calendar. The moon will be fully round on this night.

This year I am celebrating Mooncake Festival in Japan. Prior to Mooncake Festival, my company's cafeteria had a special set for lunch. Main course was burger set with fried rice, side dish was mashed potato mixed with mintaiko 明太子, and the muaji dessert with red bean and green tea flavours. The set costs 500yen.

The lunch set was just nice, the burger and fried rice taste normal, the mashed potato with mintaiko is quite special. The reason I choosen this set is due to the dessert, they look delicious, but I felt a little bit dissapointed as they don't really tasted as good as what I was expected, they are too sweet. Embarassed

Then how about the celebration in Penang? Hmm, I believed it will be the same as usual, nothing special, haha. But I wish to celebrate this special event in Penang with my lover. Hehehehe. Cool

Lastly, MnY wish all people around the world Happy Mooncake Festival and may all the dreams come true!
